Part-Time Graphic Designer

Graphic Designer + Creative Execution Partner – Wasilla, AK (Local Only)

Type: Part-Time
Location: Must be based in or near Wasilla, Alaska
Start Date: Immediate
Compensation: Hourly (DOE)

You’re tired of freelancing… chasing clients, managing admin, sending proposals, juggling revisions, and carrying all the chaos yourself. You want to focus on what you actually enjoy: creating. Not selling. Not pitching. Not running a business.

You’re the kind of designer who thrives in execution. You love taking a clear concept and bringing it to life. Maybe you’re great at digital graphics. Maybe you shine in layout work. Maybe you can rebuild a messy logo into a crisp vector without breaking a sweat. Whatever your strengths, you care about accuracy, consistency, and polished design. You notice the details.

You want to work with a team that respects the craft, values your independence, and leaves you to your creative zone, while still being there when you need a second set of eyes. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

This job could look 1 of two ways:
What You Will Do (Depending on Your Skillset)

1. GRAPHIC DESIGN AND BRAND ASSET CREATION

If you lean design heavy, you will spend time:

  • Designing digital and print marketing materials including social graphics, ads, email graphics, flyers, brochures, signage, and promotional layouts

  • Preparing files correctly for both print and digital delivery

  • Following established brand guidelines for colors, fonts, spacing, and overall direction

  • Contributing to creative concepts, brainstorming ideas, and offering visual solutions

  • Creating or refining visual assets such as logos, icons, motifs, badges, and vector elements when needed

  • Translating rough concepts or sketches into clean, polished designs (and can rebuild low-quality or raster graphics into clean, high-quality vector files suitable for print and digital use)

  • Building Canva or Adobe template files to support consistent branding

  • Using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva as required

  • Ensuring strong visual fundamentals including spacing, hierarchy, typography, and alignment

You do not need to be an illustrator, but you do know how to use the software.
We need someone who understands design, structure, and how to polish a concept.

Important:
Please do not send fanart as your portfolio.
We are looking for graphic design, not hobby art.

2. WEBSITE BUILDING (SHOPIFY • WIX • ELEMENTOR)

If you lean web heavy, you will:

  • Take approved site concepts and build them cleanly and accurately

  • Create custom feeling layouts without a template mentality

  • Implement UX flow, hierarchy, spacing, and mobile responsiveness

  • Build pages, sections, product layouts, and branded website elements

  • Solve platform limitations without losing the design intent

  • Deliver organized, easy to navigate builds that clients can maintain

You do not need to code.
If you can code, that is a superpower we will absolutely use.

OR … THE HYBRID SWEET SPOT (If This Is You, We Want You Immediately)

Can you create brand assets and build websites
Can you vectorize concepts and execute site layouts
Can you collaborate on creative ideas and bring them to life digitally

You might be our unicorn.

Who Thrives in This Role

You are someone who:

  • Has a portfolio of actual professional work

  • Has personal work only if it shows real design or build skills
(fanart, anime drawings, or character art is not relevant for this role)

  • Is proficient in Adobe Illustrator

  • Understands spacing, hierarchy, composition, and clarity

  • Can follow creative direction and elevate it

  • Does not rely on templates to carry the project

  • Has built full sites in Shopify, Wix, or Elementor

  • Communicates clearly and collaborates well

  • Loves details

  • Takes pride in the craft

You are not expected to be a creative director.
You are expected to take direction and bring it to life beautifully.

Who This Is Not For

  • People who only send fanart or character drawings as design samples

  • Template swappers who cannot build custom layouts

  • Designers who need constant handholding

  • Applicants without a portfolio

  • People who miss deadlines or disappear mid project

  • Those who do not understand spacing, brand consistency, or alignment

We work intentionally, thoughtfully, and collaboratively.
